Disney 30 Week Countdown - Top 10 things to do at Animal Kingdom

I gotta admit, more than ANYTHING, I miss writing about Disney. It was one of my most happiest and just generally passionate things to write about and with the new year and me back on the blogging bandwagon, well and truly, I thought why not countdown my upcoming Disney trip, with some blog posts about my favourite place!

10) Watch Festival of the Lion King

For anyone who doesn't know - Festival of the Lion King is a show thats put on multiple times a day. Its stunning, with some amazing performers with amazing voices. Definitely worth seeing if you are a Lion King fan - who isn't!

9) Pet the animals at the petting zoo

Literally one of my favourite things to do! Over on Rifikis Watch there is a little petting zoo which admittedly is probably more for kids, but that never stopped me! Here you can meet (and groom!) pigs, goats, donkeys. Its cuteness overload. Here is my bestie Rose, who spent about 30mins with that piggy!

8) Eat a Worms and Dirt Sundae

Seriously, you won't regret it.

7) Eat a cupcake

Animal Kingdom offers some amazing larger than life cupcakes that no other park offers. Have a look around and see what you can discover, I believe they change seasonally. And btw, they are HUGE. Me and my bestie got one each and it was way too much for both of us to handy. That little monkey one was the size of one of our heads!

6) Go to Rifikis Watch

Ultimate awkward tourist photo, but where else can you meet Rifiki himself! Also, there are some amazing educational things going on here. You can learn about the environment, meet baby animals and even see the Animal Kingdom vets treat animals sometimes. Its really good if you have kids!

5) Go on Expedition Everest

One for the thrill seekers! One of my absolute favourite mountains of Disney World AND look how photogenic it is aswell!  No matter where you take a photo from, this mountain is guaranteed to look awesome. And seriously, its an awesome ride too.

4) Eat at Yak and Yeti Quick Service

I'm telling ya, I have DREAMS about this place.

3) Visit the Pangini Forest Trail Exploration

If you are looking for somewhere to have a relaxing stroll away from the crowds, the Pangini forest trail is beautiful. Its very well themed, you genuinely don't feel like you are in a theme park. Another educational experience if you will, but a great one, nonetheless.

2) Get special Animal Kingdom ears

Because why wouldn't you!

1) Explore Kilimanjiro Safaris

Of course, I saved the best until last! The safari is one of the best parts of Animal Kingdom. I love how every time you go on it, it can be different, with different routes and different facts. I also love how its not rushed compared to other "safaris" I have been on. The "tour operator" will normally allow lots of time for pictures, while providing educational facts at the same time. Its a real treat. I recommend going on it at different times of the day too, to see lots of different animals basking in the Florida sun.

Honourable mentions definitely go out to "Its tough to be a bug" (love that ride!) and the various awesome meet and greets (And the full dining service Yak and Yeti) but regardless, these are my must do's! And I hope I included a little bit for everyone, whether you are a foodie, thrill seeker or just a general sight see'er!

What would your must-do's be? Did I leave anything out?!

Sheet Mask Sunday: Timeless Truth Sheet Masks

Howdy everyone!
So today I am starting something very special on the blog. Some of you may or may not know, but I am trialling a new skin care routine over the past 2 months - the 10 Step Korean skincare routine. Its hard work, but my skin has honestly never looked better. As such, a huge part of this routine has been the sheet mask step - thats right you read it correctly, every single night I do a sheet mask. So I thought, while I am trialling all sorts of sheet masks, why not blog about them and share my thoughts with the wonderful internet!

The folks at Timeless Truth kindly sent over 4 face masks for me to try after hearing about my new series. Fun Fact: as a make up artist, sheet masks are a god-send for clients who may have particularly stressed out skin e.g. brides or clients who have travelled a lot! So when trialling face masks I am always looking for ones to add to my kit. I browsed the website having not heard of Timeless Truth before (having said that, when embarking on my new Korean skincare journey, I hadn't heard about many brands!) but really liked the selection and the innovation into their masks so I was extremely excited to try!

So lets get onto the review!

Q - 10 Caviar Nourishing Mask - This one is part of their luxury range ( I felt very fancy reviewing this!). Supposed to prevent ageing, promote skin cell turnover (I am all about that life!) and improve skins elasticity. This mask was actually very innovative, with little ear holes so the mask doesn't slip or slide around and its very comfortable to wear too! I will admit, I did feel a bit silly wearing it. The effect of this one was almost instant, my skin felt so plump and looked SO clear. Definitely a good one for a special occasion.

Snow Algae and Hydralauric acid - Again, needless to say, very excited to use this! Snow Algae (found on glaciers and snow in Switzerland - supposedly a very hardy plant, the ingredients help protect the youthfulness of the skin.) Well as soon as I read that, I knew I would like it! The mask itself was quite thick and again SOAKED in product. I actually had enough product in this one for 2 uses. It was incredibly soothing and did indeed make my skin look more plumped and youthful. I woke up the next day and received compliments from my colleagues saying I looked radiant that day. This one was actually my favourite of the lot and happened to win Silver in the Pure Beauty Awards 2016, so definitely well worth checking out! I think this would be a contender for my kit, as it worked so well and immediately.

Charcoal Detox Brightening Mask - Made out of Timeless Truths fusion complex - which has an active ingredient that comes to life when coming into contact with the skin, I was looking forward to using this one! I used this one on a day I felt a bit blah, where my skin had broken out a little bit and I generally felt a bit congested, Claims to be amazing for skin that frequents polluted areas and it just so happens, hey I live in London! My skin felt a little bit tingly after using this mask, but nothing crazy. For this one I didn't see any real improvement to my skin. It felt very clean and "detoxed" but this is probably the only mask out of the lot that I myself wouldn't buy. Maybe it just didn't work for my particular skin type, or maybe I am just comparing it to the other masks that I I felt worked absolute wonders, but this one, just made my skin feel healthy and clean.

Bee Bio Cellulose Bee Venom Royal Jelly mask - The mask that Timeless Truth is known for, this one has actually won the Pure Beauty Awards Gold winners 2015. Bee venom is actually pretty common in Korean skincare and I had heard a lot about it. It is considered natures alternaive to botox and, well need I say more! Made out of "bio cellulose" this one felt almost like a second skin, it stuck to my face and every little crevice really really well. My boyfriend actually remarked that I looked a little bit scary as my face looked kind of melted, but we must suffer for beauty darling! This really was a lovely mask, my skin felt so plump and rejuvenated after use. It was completely clear, super hydrated and again, the morning after using, I recieved a tonne of compliments (and I haven't really told anyone about my skin care escapades yet, so I felt like they were really genuine compliments!). I feel like this mask would be great before a big event or special occasion as it really is just divine. T

Overall I was really really happy with these. They far surpassed some of the Korean sheet masks I had tried which pleasantly surprised me! I felt like they were great quality, but that did come at a slightly steeper price than some of the Korean ones I had tried. For example, a Tony Moly one may cost me £2, but these will set you back £5-6. They are all soaked in product, that you easily get two uses out of the (I don't use the mask twice, but I put the essence in a little bowl and soak a clean mask in the remainder) so that does make it a little bit easier to swallow. The quality and fit of the masks is lovely, they all adhered well to the face and didn't dry out. They seemed to fit nicely and didn't get all drippy around the chin area (something to watch out for if you haven't yet tried a sheet mask, its my pet peeve!) and I genuinely felt like these made my skin look and feel fabulous. I will be making an order and I feel like thats a real testament as to whether a PR sent product works. I always ask myself, would I spend my own money on this. And yes Timeless Truth, yes I would, and I am excitedly waiting for a new order of masks to fill me up.

Face Mask Friday: Heaven by Deborah Mitchell WillowBee Mask & Cleanse

When this hit my doorstep I squealed a little bit, not gonna lie.
Deborah Mitchell for those who don't know - facialist to the stars, owner of the skincare brand Heaven and general lady boss who is killing it! If Deborah isn't tending to her month long waiting list, she's jetting to the oscars or to bloody Buckingham palace tending to the royals. Yeah, she's skincare big time stuff. I was super lucky to receive her renowned WillowBee mask and cleanse to review on my new series - face mask fridays. You could say i'm super into skincare at the moment, pairing this with Sheet Mask Sundays!

As soon as I ripped this open, it was on my face within minutes. I've been trialling it for almost a month now and have also been using it every day for a week, so you could say, I'm pretty familiar now with this mask. So lets get down to the nitty gritty.

The mask is sort of like a clay consistency. It never really dries on the face or sets like other traditional face masks do. Instead this one rather absorbs into the face, letting you know which areas are more dehydrated than others (for me, it absorbs more around my cheek areas and my forehead. The scent is really lovely, super calming with hints of lavender and the most subtle hint of honey, which makes it a real treat to put on after a long hard day at work. Afterwards, I just rinse it off to make sure it doesn't clog my pores and finish with a serum or essence and my night cream. My skin feels really refreshed afterwards and super calm. Any spots or redness are almost immediately alleviated (which definitely shows why Kate Middleton used the brand before her wedding day!).

Would I buy it though? The ultimate testament to a PR product.
Yes, I would but I'm not in a rush. The mask itself is very calming and luxurious. It feels like a real treat and my skin after felt very supple and hydrated. I think it worked much better as a mask rather than a cleanser. I do think there are other masks out there (particularly my Korean baes) that offer very similar for less of a steep price tag. However, there is no denying the quality of ingredients is there and if you are looking for something with a bit of luxury to it, the entire Heaven range will be well suited for you!

A Make Up Artists review of the Lord and Berry Seta Eyeshadows

If there is anything you gotta know about me, is when it comes to make up, I am three things. I am a consumer, I like to buy make up for the fun of it. I stalk instagram for the latest palettes and products and love trying and testing things out. Second - I am a make up artist. This means I look for quality, I want things to go above and beyond for the job I am doing. I also look for practicality, things that aren't bulky or breakable. And this one usually means I am way more critical on make up, because I'm looking for something completely extraordinary. Lastly, I'm a blogger. I occasionally get sent things for review and I love sharing my thoughts on products and reading what other people are reviewing. Put all three together - it makes me one tough cookie when it comes to reviewing make up!

When I was sent the new Lord and Berry eyeshadows, I was pretty intrigued  I had only tried Lord and Berry lip products before and eyeshadows for me are my achilles heel. I am a sucker for them! I was sent 4 perfectly autumnal colours in a navy, khaki green, grey and burgundy brown. All matte, bar one. Mattes are my absolute favourite eyeshadows to review, as they can go so wrong, or so right! So lets get to the actual fun stuff - the eyeshadows!

Here is my first look using the green and brown eyeshadow. I found the eyeshadows to be a  little on the powdery side, kicking up a lot of fall out from the pan but to be honest I didn't mind too much. They blended really really nicely. I did find the dark sparkly green had to be built up a lot to get the colour payoff I desired.

The actual packaging of the eyeshadows is nice, compact, simple and elegant. More importantly they are nice and easy to depot, which I will admit I did after taking photographs! I can't stand carrying lots of little pots around in my kit, so these went straight in a Z palette.

Quality wise, while they aren't any Anastasia Beverly Hills, they compare nicely to Sleek and even MAC in some cases. They blended well and even though they did take some building up, I didn't have to work too hard which I appreciated. I genuinely think, after looking on the website, there is a really decent colour range which could excite eyeshadow fans. I particularly like the look of the shimmery shades, even though in this case, the mattes performed a lot better for me! However, the question I always ask: would I buy these?

I think thats a hard one, as I definitely like to swatch first of all. I think as I have SO many eyeshadow colours, it would really take a special shade to catch my eye. But if you are buying blind, do rest assured, the quality is there and you won't be disappointed.
