Challenge of the Month: Look 2: Halo

Hey everyone, another challenge look for you today. Do you ever have those days you wake up in a totally bad mood for one reason or another? Being in the make up industry makes it incredibly easy for me to take out my frustrations with a make up brush and this day in particular, I definitely felt like I did that! All my anger and pissed off-ness went straight into creating this look and honestly, I kinda love it!

I used MAC Cranberry to include a bit of pink, which has been my challenge this month and I am slowly getting to grips with it. I've found the key is to use pink as accents, like here it is my blending out colour and to use it with complementary tones like purples and browns.
I also included a bit of my favourite MAC eyeshadow - Marvel to the inner and outer corners and finished off with Sugarpills Lumi, and what a remarkable effect it had! It really bought the look to a new level and made me eyes stand out like nothing else! I adore Lumi and recommend everyone have it in their collection.

Let me know what you think of this look? And remember if you submit any pink look and take part in this challenge, you will be featured in my next look :)

Palette of the Month: February 2014: Urban Decay Naked Palette (1,2+3): Look #1

Hey everyone! So for the month of February I had SO many requests to do looks from the Naked palettes (1,2 and 3 as well as the basics!) so I thought I would dedicate February's Palette of the month to the infamous Naked palettes! All in all, there are 5 Naked palettes, 1,2 and 3 plus the two basics palettes (and most recently they added Naked on the run to their repertoire). This month I'm gonna get back to basics with some fabulously naked looks from the Urban Decay Naked family, as requested by you!

This look here is probably my "go-to" look. Whether I have 5 mins in the morning or am lacking on inspiration, I will always turn to this look as its easy, polished and put together. I have actually worn it for most of my job interviews too (although I didn't get the jobs, I was complimented on my make up!) and countless times for work. Pair with strong liner and a bold lip this can go from day to night easy, but anyway, enough yabbering on about the look - lets see it!

I used a combination of Sin all over the lid with smog and darkhorse in the crease to add definition. I blended it all out with buck which added warmth. I like the end result, especially paired with falsies to add a little bit of glam!

What do you think? Have you tried this combo yet?
Next up a cheeky little nighttime look with the Naked 2 palette!

Challenge of the Month: February - PINK

So with the last months challenge being glitter (and me only getting one look done whoops!) This month I have resolved to challenge myself (and you guys!) to one of the hardest colours to master... Pink!! It only seemed fitting, what with Valentines Day coming up and Spring.
Pink is such a hard colour to wear, pull off and apply. Its a colour I'm not 100% confident wearing on both my eyes  so I thought what better way to become a better make up artist than challenge myself to create looks with it all month! So without further ado... here is my first pink look of the month!

I have always loved the combo of pink and champagne-gold type colours. I think they are super flattering and a really nice way to ease the pink in. And who would have thunk that deep purple would come out with that crazy pink undertone when blended with the champagne? Crazy right! I also want to apologise for my atrocious eyebrow work in this, clearly wasn't paying attention!

So there we have it, a very easy sweet feminine way to incorporate pink into your daily routine without looking like you have had an allergic reaction! I would love for you guys to get involved in this challenge. Just submit your pink looks to me either by twitter or email and you'll be featured in my next look. Plus it gets those creative juices flowing :)
