2013 in Make Up Looks

Hey everyone! I thought I would do one of these as my wrist is feeling a little better (thank you for all the well wishes!) and it went down quite well last year, as well as being one of my favourite posts to look back on as it shows me just how far I have come in regards to photography and more importantly... make up application! I hope that in 2014 I can continue to grow and go further, push more boundries and develop into what I would love to be able to call myself... a make up artist!

So without further ado, here are all the looks I did in 2013!

Whew, thats a lotta looks! This year was the year I stopped focusing on reviews and starting focusing on being a make up look blog of sorts. I still do reviews, but I mainly stick to all things eyeshadow and I'm really happy I made this change. I'm happier than I've ever been with my blog content and making the shift really made me feel less pressured.
So what do I want to accomplish this year?

Blogging goals

  1. Continue to grow. I found 2013 was an incredible year for my blog, where I was able to have such fantastic opportunities which I never imagined possible. I did make up for Cosmo on two occasions and even contributed to Company magazine. These are experiences I will never forget and have grown from, making me more confident as a person and in my make up application. I hope to have more of these experiences in 2014 and not only grow as a person, but see my little blog go from strength to strength.
  2. I want to continue to do make up looks and improve my skills. Even though I included this last year, I want to continue doing looks and do 2/3 a week on the blog. I got into a really good regime which was sort of lost with my wrist injury, but I want to get back into that schedule and continue bettering my artistry.
  3. Incorporate more Disney! This is a bit of a funny goal, as my blog is already very Disney orientated, but I want to post more on my eBay finds, Primark posts and just more Disney related fun. I always found these posts went down well in 2013, so I want to include more of them not only for you guys but because they are a lot of fun to write and I love spending hours researching cool stuff to show you!
Personal Goals

  1. Last year, one of my personal goals was to get into university to study medicine. Well after my third attempt, I think sometimes you have gotta realise that some things aren't for you. A bit like in Monsters University (SPOILER ALERT BTW!), when Mike realises he won't ever be a scarer because he isn't "scary" he goes on to focus on his strengths and what he is good at instead. For me this is make up. I finally have stopped thinking I'm not "good" at make up and have started realising I am good and maybe this is what I should be doing with my life. I really want to get a job doing something I love this year!
  2. This year I want to move out with my boyfriend again. My boyfriend and myself used to live together, but moved in with my parents to save some money so we could buy our own home. This year I really want to be able to do that and have a house we can call ours.
  3. Save money. Last year was a real turning point for my finances and even though I am not quite out of my credit card and overdraft yet, I am close and would love to live without borrowed money essentially.
So there we have it! My goals for 2014. You can check out my 2012 post here with all my goals and 2012's make up looks. I hope you all had a fantastic New Year whatever you ended up doing (I had a quiet one as usual!) and I hope 2014 brings you everything you hope!

  6. Sorry to hear you didn't get to study medicine, but maybe it's for the best. It takes a long time to get qualified and it is a lot of stress.

I love your eyeshadow looks! The black swan one is so cool. I really am not very good at makeup, and my skin colour and eye colour makes it hard to pull of such bold looks.

  7. That's a lot of amazing eye looks! I think the one with the yellow eyeliner would have to be my favourite one, though. :)

Happy new year! I hope all of your goals will turn out as planned. :)
