Lush Easter Review: Henata Bath Bomb

Hey everyone. Today I am reviewing, possibly, the funnest bath bomb in the entire world. I mean, c'mon! Its a chicken, a fun, huge sized, yellow and orange chicken! I warn you now though, this bath bomb has a surprise in it, much like the Golden Wonder Christmas bath bomb, so don't read on/view pictures if you would like that surprise to remain :)

Henata is inspired by the Mexican piƱatas tradition of children smashing model animals to get sweeties inside. I don't know how anyone can resist picking her up, she is bigger than your average bath bomb (coming at a bigger price tag though) and insanely adorable.
Scent wise, Henata is very tangy. Citrus is the main note with tangerine and mandarin which gives it an uplifting and awakening scent. I found it very enjoyable in the bath tub, but when I initially smelt her, I didn't really like the citrus-y smell so much. Put her in the tub however, she smells exactly like a satsuma being peeled! Lush say Henata is ideal to use in the mornings and I believe it, she will certainly wake you up!

The bath water is fun but I would have preferred something a bit different. The water turned a orangey, yellow colour bursting with dissolve-able soap flowers and two surprise mini bath bombs in the shape of mini eggs! That was a super fun surprise which had me smiling. The eggs fizzed out a lot slower so you will definitely notice them bobbing along instead of fizzing out quickly like their mother hen! The water did leave me a bit disappointed though, it runs more yellow than orange and I have a bit of a *thing* for yellow baths that I don't think I can get past! I would have loved a bright orange bath with cool swirly designs (much like The Enchanter) but beggars can't be choosers.

Overall I really liked Henata. She is something different and her scent is really pleasant and uplifting, perfect for spring! She is slightly more expensive than other bath bombs at £4.50, but she is a handful so I don't mind too much! You can purchase her at your local lush store or here online.

Will you be trying out Henata or any of the other Lush Spring products?

100 Day "No Spending" Challenge - Week 8

Hey everyone. We are officially on week 7 and that means I am over halfway through now.

I had a pretty busy week. As I said before, I don't get to see my friends much, so I wasn't going to compromise seeing them for the ban. I saw my bestie this week so we went out for coffee and shopping. This did mean I had a cheeky Costa, but instead of ordering the most expensive large hot chocolate with all the trimmings, I opted for a chocolate brownie instead costing me £2.50 roughly. I also bought her dinner, as it was my turn to pay this time so overall I spent about £50. I also bought the monthly Lush retro and limited edition Easter and Mothers Day stuff. This again cost me roughly £60, but this is allowed in my rules. It took all my strength not to hoard more of my favourite products (The Magic Mushroom and Fluffy Egg are my number one favourite lush products!) but at least I'll continue to use up my current stash.

Additionally I bought my boyfriend dinner a couple of nights. He has been so good to me, it was the least I could do (when I say dinner, I mean Burger King hah!). Overall an expensive week. It seems like everything comes at once! But not a beauty product in sight at least :)

Apart from all that, its been a week of freebies! I won a giveaway over on Charlottes blog and got some gorgeous Soap & Glory products I have never tried before and MUA goodies including the much coveted Undressed palette! Thank you Charlotte for this opportunity, I love all of it and you really bought a smile to my face!

I also Back to MAC'd 6 MAC empties for a free lipstick! I chose Creme Cup and absolutely adore it! Last but not least, I got some Rimmel goodies with my boots points. I have an exciting make up look coming up later in the week with all the goodies I got involving a certain beautiful lady at the Grammy awards. Keep yer eyes peeled if you like a certain California Girl!

Total money spent: £153.00
What I have learnt this week: Lush costs a lot of money!
Lusting after: The entire Sephora and Disney Jasmine collection and I'd happily break the ban for it if it was more accessible. Any American friends wanna ship it over?! (Lol at me trying to SPEND money on a spending ban post!)

As always here is the list of all the ladies taking part in the ban. I have fully updated the list now so get reading! Some amazing updates and I had a blast reading through them all :)

Lush Easter Review: Fluffy Egg

Hey guys and girls. Today I am back with another Lush review and this time I am moving onto the Easter range!
The Lush Easter collection always brings a big smile to my face as it never disappoints with fun looking bath bombs and gorgeous smelling fluffy bubbles. This year is the same, with Lush bringing back some fun favourites from last year and also some exciting newbies into the mix. Today I am reviewing the Fluffy Egg bath bomb. Last year I went nuts for this and I still have a whole box full I am hoarding (oh the shame!) This year, due to my spending ban rules, I can only buy one for reviewing purposes and my heart hurts a little knowing I can't hoard more!

Fluffy Egg is an adorable pink Easter egg shaped bath bomb with embedded flower. The best part? If you love Snow Fairy, you NEED to get one of these. It is the same scent as Snow Fairy in bath bomb form. Pair it with Snow Fairy Shower Gel, Snow Fairy Magic Wand and Rockstar soap, you are going to have yourself a bath of candyfloss goodness. Its gorgeous, the smell is strong yet not overpowering and the scent definitely stays on skin afterwards. It fizzes quickly and leaves a pink explosion in its wake. A bath fit for princesses and candy queens. The water is left soft and didn't dry out my skin, but I did need to moisturise after. It did not stain my bath which was a bonus as I find a lot of Lush's other colourful bath bombs leave a ring around the bath which can be quite hard to remove.

At £2.95 the Fluffy Egg is definitely worth picking up. An explosion of colour and candy floss goodness, you can't go wrong! You can purchase Fluffy Egg from your local Lush store or here online for £2.95. It is limited edition for Easter so try it while you can :)

Will you be picking up an Fluffy Egg?

Urban Decay Glinda Palette Make Up Look

Hey everyone. So this week I have been playing around more and more with the Urban Decay Glinda Palette. If you read my review, you may have noticed I wasn't too keen on the palette. While Urban Decay did a great job, I felt the palettes overall colour scheme wasn't for me. But I am always determined to make a palette work for me, so I grabbed my brushes and got working, eventually coming up with this whimsical girly look which to me screams Glinda. I wanted to create something that would do justice to the lady herself and fit in with the theme of the palette. I kept it soft and feminine with no smokey crease or harsh edges.

I hope you enjoy this look! Let me know if you like seeing this softer side of me :)

I love these Katy Perry lashes!

Products Used: Urban Decay Glinda Palette, Urban Decay Glinda Super saturated lip pencil and eyeshadow Magic as blusher. Benefit High Brow to highlight. MAC lingering eyebrow pencil for brows. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser and Katy Perry falsies

So I hope you enjoyed this look, its just one of the ways you could use the Glinda palette. I really enjoyed patting the gold shade in the middle of my lid - it looked really subtle but still "magical". Also Magic makes the prettiest blusher, its so glowy and feminine. You should definitely try it if you have this palette!

Have you got the Glinda palette? What are your favourite looks with it?

100 Day "No Spending" Challenge: Week 7

49 days in. So close to halfway it hurts! This week has been pretty uneventful for me thank goodness. After a couple of weeks of being very naughty this week I didn't spend a penny. Yay!

I did have to pop into town on Wednesday to have a meeting. My workplace is slap bang in the middle of town only a 5 minute walk from MAC, Debenhams, Boots and all those dangerous places. To top it all off, I had to wait a couple of hours for my boyfriend to be done in town so I did a spot of window shopping. To be honest I wasn't tempted by anything and felt rather bored with it all!
It was Valentines Day but me and the boyfriend don't tend to celebrate it. He always goes on and on about hating the whole card and presents thing - yet surprised me with a card and cheeky MAC Year of the Snake lipstick and eyeshadow. I didn't get him a thing! You could say I saved money there, but I did feel terrible about being fooled by him and not getting him anything. Not even a card! We didn't go out, although we had the cinema planned, we decided to stay in and save me money. He is being very supportive of the ban, buying me the odd chocolate bar and not complaining that we didn't get to see Django Unchained. Bless him!

I got paid and thankfully got the £100 they forgot to give me last month. My bank account is looking the healthiest it has ever looked and I am so happy! My credit card is still in dire need of paying off but first I must attend to the holiday payment. As soon as that is done, I can get started on the credit card so hopefully by the end of this challenge I will be debt free! Thats the ultimate goal here, if I can do it, this challenge will have made a huge difference to my life.

Total spent this week: £0!
I am lusting after: MUA Undress me too palette
What I have learnt this week: Maybe I have too much make up, if I don't want anymore?

Here is the list of ladies taking part in the challenge. I haven't updated it in a while but am dedicating an hour tomorrow to update it. I just haven't had the time as it is quite time consuming but check back in the week and it will be completely upto date. And don't forget to leave me links!

I thought I'd include a fun picture of one of my favourite rides at Disneyworld - Splash Mountain! Disneyworld is my spending ban inspiration, since I am going in June and need to save for my holiday repayment on April 1st!
