Minnie Mouse & Etude House Collaboration: Minnie "Kissing Lips" Lipsticks Review & Swatches

Hey everyone! So after my month of Halloween make up looks, I decided to tone things down, give my face a rest and do a couple of reviews on some very exciting things indeed.
As a Disney lover and make up collector, when news of this collection hit my ears (thanks Amy!) I knew it had to be mine! I actually ended up getting most of the collection over time, so I have most bits to review for you! And don't worry UK ladies, this is completely easy to get via eBay! The seller will be listed at the end of the post :)

So lets get to it! Etude House is a Korean brand that I have tried a few times before when my best friend goes to Korea she often brings me things back and Etude House has frequented her presents! I love their unique and cute packaging that stands out on any womans dressing table. Etude House collaborated with Disney to come up with a small collection celebrating the first lady mouse of Disney!

Today I'll be going through the two lipstick offerings in the collection! In perfectly Minnie fashion you have a red and a bubblegum pink to choose from, each one differing in packaging. One features Minnie about to put lipstick on and another shows Minnie Mouse dreamily looking into the distance wearing heart shaped sunglasses. Of course each Minnie is wearing their respective lipstick and every little detail nods towards the colour, with pink or red polka dots adorning the side, to the simple things such as the colour tops that Minnie is wearing or the colour of "kissing". Such details never go amiss with me and I really get the impression that a lot of thought and effort went into the making of the packaging.

The lipsticks themselves are perfectly Minnie colours and even though we probably all have a bubblegum pink and fire engine red, the packaging makes up for it. With a sleek black bullet and white outer casing, both don't overly scream "Disney" but still have that playful element of Minnie Mouse. I am particularly fond of "Bubble Pinks" packaging with simple polka dots but I still love the elegant drawing of Minnie which is scrawled across "Minnie Red".

Minnie Red is a true Minnie Mouse red. Its soft and creamy to apply and feels very comfortable on the lips. Its moisturising and lasts about 4 hours. I was eating and drinking during this time and it lasted well  but did leave a slight ring around my lips so I would recommend a lip liner for longevity and cleaner fading. Overall though, I was really impressed!

Bubble Pink is the most perfect shade of pink. So wearable and perfect for daytime and night as well as quite universally flattering. Its again soft and moisturising like its red counterpart. Its very comfortable to wear and fades nice and evenly but doesn't last quite as long as Minnie Red.

I was genuinely very impressed with both of these and can see myself wearing both a lot when i want that pop of "Minnie" colour. It was my first time wearing a Etude House lip product and honestly if the rest are as brilliantly formulated as these then sign me up for more! I purchased these from eBay here for the bargainous price of £5.90 with free delivery! Need I say more?! The seller was excellent, delivered in good time (about 2 weeks!) and included lots of samples! US lovelies can also purchase here if eBay ain't your thang!

Will you be indulging in this cute collection?

  6. I've only ever had one lipstick in my life (shocking, I know...) and recently recently I've been wondering about whether I should try wearing some ever now and then. These Minnie Mouse lipsticks are definitely making me think "hell yeah I should!" They look so cute! I'd have no idea what colour to wear though... X

  12. I've just ordered the red one, and one of the glitter polishes too. After already ordering (I have such brilliant logic) I googled reviews on them, thank you for doing this! It has reassured me that the red isn't too blue toned for my ghostly complexion! I am now even more excited to receive it in the post! I wish I could justify the money for one of the minnie blushers/highlights :(!
Do you know what they're adding to the range?
