Lime Crime Week Day 7: Cleopatra Coming Atcha Make Up Look

Hey everyone. Its the last day of Lime Crime week and today I thought i'd play around with my Lime Crime eyeshadow palettes. I had a moment of inspiration and tweeted if there was any looks people wanted to see. A couple of people said summer looks (which I've been working on :)) and I had a few more requests for Disney looks (stay tuned!) and Sophia from Tattooed Tealady tweeted she'd like to see a Cleopatra look, right as I was thinking i'd love to do something Egyptian! Great minds eh?

So for this look, I used both the Lime Crime Alchemy palette and Aquataenia palette, both of which boast incredible blues perfect for recreating Cleopatra's well known make up look (whether or not this is historically correct I couldn't find out, but it seems to be how she is commonly depicted in popular culture). I then of course had to go heavy with the eyeliner, creating a cat eye flick that Egyptians were known for using Lime Crime liners in Quill and Rhyme. Originally Egyptians used materials such as lead or copper ore and even though I wanted an authentic look, I felt these liners would be safer ;)
I joke, I joke, I kid I kid.

Anyways before I kill you with anymore bad jokes, here is the look!

So what do you think? I hope I did the famous Cleopatra justice!
I really do hope you enjoyed my Lime Crime week and posts! I had a lot of fun sharing my favourite brand with you and even though it was a tonne of work to get a weeks worth of posts sorted, I really am pleased with how it turned out! Please do leave me a comment below telling me if you'd like me to do a similar sort of week with another brand. I was thinking Sugarpill or Sleek? What do you think :)

PS: If anyone recognises where I got my title for this post from. i'll give you cookies!

  4. I'm not a fan of Lime Crime (I won't go into it, you've probably already had others pointing you in certain directions), but I have to admit those colours are amazing. I love the look as well :D
As for the title, the moment I saw it I thought something along the lines of 'Horrible Histories, perchance?' ;P

    1. Thank you :) I know people are divided on the subject of Lime Crime but for me, its all about the make up :) Y'know, a lot of people have said that! I was thinking more along the lines of the 90's song Cleopatra, but I think it may have been a Horrible Histories thing too! :)

  5. I used to blooming love Cleopatra. In fact, my dad used to work as an events security guard and he got me their autographs when they supported The Spice Girls. I thought it was the best thing ever!

And by the way, this make up is GORGEOUS!

This look is absolutely stunning and I love how geometric you made the eyeliner :) The inner corner liner is probably my favorite :D xx
