Sephora & Disney Ariel Collection: Set the Mood Mirror

Hey Disney lovers! Today I am reviewing for you, the highly collectible and sought after Ariel compact mirror from the Sephora and Disney collaboration. The mirrors in these collections have been the hits, selling out within hours if not minutes of being released and have become the stars of the collection. I have no idea why I got sucked into collecting all three, but I did and I'm so happy I did, as I rotate whichever mirror inspires me more on a day to day basis.

The Ariel Set the Mood mirror is just stunning despite me saying when I first saw pictures that I wasn't too thrilled. It really is magical. The deep blue and light turquoise tones of the box sit nicely with the collection, with pretty silver accenting showing waves, shells and seahorses, including silhouettes of Ariel which have been common throughout the collection. You could genuinely spend hours looking at the boxes, finding little hidden details from the films and I've said it before and I'll say it again, Disney lovers go wild for these details. It really has set the bar high for any other future Disney make up releases. There is a little quote on the top of the box - "You've got to be you" and as always the barcode is special, this time in the shape of seahorses. There is pretty seashell bordering around the edges of the box and enclosed, the mirror sits comfortable and safety inside a foam protector, you needn't worry about it getting damaged in transit.

Now onto the actual mirror, I could spend all day swooning over the packaging but thats what we are all here for right. The mirror is silver, with a raised metal design enveloping the pretty image of Ariel and Prince Eric sharing what would be their first kiss on a boat. Needless to say, this is a very special and popular scene in the movie and I don't think they could have picked a better scene to depict. The raised metal waves make the image seem almost 3D and swimming around Ariel and Eric you will find hundreds of little fishies and birds. Such a nice touch! The mirror opens in the similar push pin style to the others, with a magnified side and a normal side and the same quote you will find at the top of the box packaging is also written across one of the mirrors. I've seen some people love the quote, some people hate it and think it isn't at all representative of the movie. My stance is... its a nice quote. I read it and feel empowered and happy to be myself. I do think its not the best quote that could have been used, but I generally do feel this collection was a little rushed...

At the moment, the mirrors in these collections are selling like hotcakes. They are highly collectible and honestly, its worth getting one especially if you are a Disney lover as the quality is definitely there, its a sturdy mirror that is not going to break on you and has a special little something about it that makes it magical. They are not only mirrors, but conversation starters, little pieces of Disney to carry around with you and hand held pieces of artwork that make me smile whenever I use it. I look at the quotes on all these mirrors and feel empowered by Ariel, motivated by Cinderella or adventurous from Jasmine's quote. These are definitely definitely worth it in my books. So snap them up while you can! US lovelies can find these in their local Sephora's but be quick as they are all sold out online! UK ladies can find them on Roses Beauty Store who will have them in stock soon!

Will you be buying one of these? Which mirror has been your favourite?

I'm feeling a bit sad as this is the last review I have in the Disney Sephora line. Its been emotional and I can only hope one day they decide to collaborate again! :)

  1. YOUR PICTURES ARE STUNNING. It's so shiny O.O I love this mirror and seeing as it's the only one I've bought from all of the collections, it's my favorite :D It's totally a conversation starter. I've whipped this out maybe 5 times and practically each time someone's like "Let me see that ..." I hope they collaborate again soon (hoping for a Belle collection, haha)

    1. Thank you so much Jess :) That means a lot as I try really hard to get better at photography each time I sit down and take photos :) It is SUCH a conversation starter right? I always get people like "where did you get your mirror from?" I feel sad telling them they can't get them very easily! I really do hope to see all the Princesses in the Sephora line, I doubt it will happen especially with Beautifully Disney, but a girl can wish! :)
