Disneyworld Diary: Day #14
Our last day *sobs*
I don't even know if you can call this an official last day as 90% of it is spent travelling so I thought i'd sum up the trip!
We spent the first part of our morning at Downtown Disney, getting our photos. Luckily the photos on our photopass that we took in front of the castle came out really nice! So we bought three, one for Richard, one for me and one for Richards parents (who said they wanted a picture of us, god knows why). It came to about $30 but while in there I saw a good deal for $200 - where you can get unlimited prints. While this is expensive, I actually think its a pretty nice idea. If you split it between two or even four people (I know when we go again with my mum and step dad we will definitely be doing this!). The photos the photopass photographers take are pretty awesome and imagine the memories!
We then went to Wolfgang Puck express for our final lunch. We still had two quick service credits to use by the end of our holiday, kind of annoying but better than the 16 odd we had left last time! Wolfgang Puck Express is actually a really nice place to eat! They do breakfast (one of the only quick service places to serve up breakfast that i've seen!) but we missed that by about an hour. The place was empty at about 12pm, so i'd grab a table then as its always horrendously busy otherwise! They do a great selection of pizza's, sandwiches, chicken and more. Richard went for meatloaf while I went for chicken tenders with a cookie for dessert. The food was nice and its served to you by a waitress with real cutlery as opposed to self serve with plastic cutlery in typical quick service fashion. I actually really enjoyed it and will definitely be returning (when I come back *sob*) but check this out if you are in need of a place to spend your quick service, or just want a quick service location with different options to eat!

We then went back to our resort, checked out and waited for the Magical Express. The Magical Express is a transport service that Disney offers to and from Orlando International. Its often quoted as both the happiest sight and the saddest (definitely saddest for me!). The service is really convenient as for us it meant we didn't have to pay a $200 taxi fee (like the first time we came) or hire a car (as we couldn't afford the under 25 young drivers surcharge). Its about a 30 minute trip and they play a cute video for you to watch and tell you when to get off. You do have to tip, unlike the buses around Disney but the drivers are helpful, friendly and cheerful so I don't mind too much. We waved goodbye to Saratoga Springs and I shed a small tear as my holiday ended.
Would I rate Saratoga Springs resort? Oh yes I would! At the beginning of the holiday I was skeptical and I had read quite negative reviews. The resort is so big and spread out and I didn't think I would like it as much as Old Key West where we stayed last time. But the resort definitely grew on us. Being so close to Downtown Disney helped a lot, we could walk by the water edge with lovely views and be at Downtown Disney in 5 minutes. The quick service restaurant was incredibly handy and tasty, offering sandwiches to go so we could eat in our room if we preferred. The amenities were nice, with launderette, a great selection of pools and we even went on a bike ride around the resort. Our room, while small and definitely not as nice as our two bedroom villa at Old Key West served its purpose and I loved the little details around the room, such as the Fox and the Hound bedspread and horse cushions. I grew to love Saratoga Springs and how laid back and relaxing it was. Would I stay here again? Definitely, but first I want to explore the other resorts Disney has to offer (its on my bucket list to tackle them all! We particularly like the look of the Yacht and Beach Club resort for next time!) I would wholeheartedly recommend it though to anyone.
I thought i'd include pictures of our resort just in case anyone was interested :) This was a deluxe studio villa.
|And the sad little sight of our suitcases by the door, ready and waiting to go :(|

So I hope you enjoyed my little Disneyworld Diary and sorry if it bored anyone (I lost two followers in the process and received a couple of emails but hey!). I enjoy reading Disney blogs and seeing other diary type posts like this, so thought it would be nice to inject a bit of "lifestyle" into my blog. I love Disney and I love Disneyworld so I want to share that with my readers and I hope you've enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed writing these!
Would you like to see more Disney-related stuff on the blog? I'm forever buying stuff!
See you in 2015 Disneyworld!
