Disneyworld Diary: Day #10

Hey everyone! So today is my boyfriend and I's 5th year anniversary! Thats the main reason we booked the trip, as we felt thats worth celebrating as other years we never do anything!

We started off with a lay in (who am I kidding?! We've had a lay in almost every day!) and headed back to Blizzard Beach for our afternoon. We decided to give Typhoon Lagoon a miss this time, mainly because as a non swimmer, I find there isn't much to do for me at Typhoon Lagoon and Richard didn't want to queue for all the rides and slides on his own. We drifted around the relaxing creek for a bit and then the wave pool before storms decided to put a dampener on our day and we had to go back!

Dress - Rare, Flip Flops - Primark

And as it was quite cold out, I added my little Primark cardigan. Bag - Primark

We had reservations that night for Fultons Crabhouse. If you've ever been to Disneyworld you'll have seen it as the HUGE impressive looking boat at Downtown Disney. We ate here last time and loved it, despite it taking two of our dining credits! We both dressed up (if you can't dress up on your anniversary when can you?!) and headed to Fultons. Fultons serves mainly seafood if you couldn't guess - with steak and rib options if you're not into fish! The menu is pretty extensive, with different types of fish, crab and lobster! I started off with a Strawberry Cheesecake martini, which our server described as dessert before our meal! Obviously I was hooked right then and he wasn't right, it was gorgeous! We decided on the crab platter to share (which would have came to an crazy $90, all hail Disney Dining Plan!)

Strawberry Martini (shaken not stirred) (actually I don't know whether it was shaken OR stirred but I had to say it)
Complimentary bread beforehand :)

The platter comes out with three huge crabs on it, Alaskian, King (my favourite!) and Dungeoness crab. As a first time crab eater, I was a bit intimidated but you soon get the hang of it and the server showed us a few tips on how to break the crab and scoop out the meat! Don't be put off ordering by any means, it was the most delicious meal i've ever eaten and I really want to go back already. I think this topped my list to be honest and is number one meal of the holiday.

For dessert, I indulged in the flourless chocolate cake while Richard had bread and butter pudding. I was left a bit underwhelmed by pudding to be honest, it was very heavy and rich so I could only manage half, but Richard absolutely loved his! The service was impeccable and very helpful and attentive. The atmosphere is nice, although we were seated by the bar again as opposed to the dining rooms. The bar can be a bit loud and crowded but it was still nice and we were given a window seat so we overlooked Downtown Disney. I'd definitely recommend this as a signature restaurant. Its my favourite of the signatures that we have tried, although saying that we have only tried two! :)

  1. Can I just say, I've been loving your Disneyworld Diary, been reading it every day! I take it the posts are a day behind, so your anniversary is actually 30th June? If so - amazing, so is mine and we just celebrated 5 years too. Happy anniversary! :-) x

    1. Thank you so much Leanne :) That makes me very happy to hear you say that! I'm actually quite a bit behind, I started off on schedule in Florida, but ended up getting so busy at night-time (which is when I would write and upload pictures) that I just didn't have time, so I've ended up putting these up a bit late :) My actual anniversary was the 20th :)

    1. Hey Dannielle. So there is 3 types of Dining Plan. You can get a quick service dining plan, which is 2 quick service meals a day, one refillable drink and one snack. Quick service meals are like burgers, chips that sort of thing, where you get your meal on a tray and find somewhere to sit. However don't underestimate it, I found some lovely quick service restaurants last time with lots of "different" meal options so its pretty good! The normal dining plan is one quick service meal and one table service meal at a restaurant where you are served ect... And then the deluxe is 2 table service meals a day. Disney has offers running all the time where you get a free dining plan if you book at one of their resorts. It is a VERY good deal and I'd highly recommend snapping up one of the dining plan deals as you will save yourself a small fortune and really enjoy the holiday more :) Let me know if you need any more help with it!

    2. Thanks so much for your recommendations, it sounds like the dining plan is the sure fire way to go. I think the normal plan would suit us best so you can have a sit down dinner and a grab and go option during the day. I know how expensive food can get on holidays so it would be nice to not have to worry about it!
