Katy Perry Grammy Awards 2013 Make Up Look ft Rimmel

Hey everyone! So i've been really excited to do this look ever since I saw Katy Perrys make up at the Grammy awards which took place a couple of weeks ago.
Jake Bailey (her make up artist) listed the exact products he used on Katy shortly after and the best part? They are completely affordable, available in the UK and from a well known brand that many of you may already own - Rimmel! I desperately wanted to buy everything, but being on the 100 Day Spending Ban meant I couldn't... until I realised I had my boots points!

Katy Perry also wore Sally Hansen, Pink at Him on her nails :)

Katy wore a very vintage classic make up look, with a defined crease, long lashes and nude lips. It is a simply stunning look and the fact it can be recreated easily and affordably is brilliant! Lets get to it!

Products Used : - These are the actual products used on Katy Perry.

Face
  • Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation - I am shade Light Porcelain
  • Mixed with a little of Rimmel BB Cream in light.
  • Rimmel Mono Blusher in Pink Rose

For eyes

  • Define upper lash line with Rimmel Kajal eyeliner in black (I used an Urban Decay black eyeliner, I didn't want to buy ANOTHER black eyeliner)
  • Using Rimmel Glam Eyes Eyeshadow Trio in Orion use the white shade all over the lid,  with the darker brown to lightly define the crease. I used the darkest brown under the lower lash line.
  • Jake Bailey then used the Rimmel Scandeleyes Shadow Stick in Bulletproof Beige as a brow highlight. At first I thought this wouldn't work as it is too "beige" but it actually looked amazing!
  • A lashing of Rimmel Scandeleyes Mascara was then used, but since I don't have any lashes, I used a pair of Eyelure falsies which looked incredibly similar to Katys (107's)
Lips

  • To complete the look, line lips with Rimmel 1000 kisses lipliner in Tiramisu.
  • This should then be topped off with Rimmel lipstick in Crush but it has since been discontinued! Disaster strikes! Rimmel Birthday Suit mixed with Rimmel Pink nude does give a very similar finish, as does MAC Velvet Teddy.

So onto the look!

I used Eylure 107 lashes as they looked closest to what Katy had on. I am actually pretty impressed with myself as they look pretty similar!

Not the best picture of me in the world, but I really liked this shot of the blusher. This has quickly become a favourite of mine!

I actually really love this look, while it is so simple and neutral, I love that it looks so glamorous and flattering. As you can see in the photos of Katy Perry, Jake Bailey took the crease colour up way PAST her crease. I initially thought this would look all wrong on me, but actually liked the end result! I am really pleased with all the Rimmel products and have to say, they have shot to number 1 spot on my favourite high street brand!

    1. Hey Joanna, the Rimmel BB cream is fab! I think its actually very very similar in texture and feel to the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser, but slightly better coverage. And its half the price! :)
