12 Days of Christmas - Day 7 - Mrs Clause

I am sooo sorry about the lack of blog updates! I owe this series a lot of posts! I had family round and then I felt ill Monday and then Tuesday I did a post and it just wouldn't photo right! So this week I might be doing one or two posts a day to try and catch up!

I wanted to do something with a dark plummy coloured lip today and dark eyes, but something simple that could be worn on Christmas Day that is low maintenance (e.g. no false lashes, no fuss!) I went for a burnt rusty red eye and dark purple vampy sort of lip! I wanted something traditional but not! Haha.

I hope you like how it turned out!

Products Used:

  • MAC Cranberry Eyeshadow
  • Urban Decay Naked Palette in colours: Virgin to highlight, a mixture of Buck, Naked and Smog in the crease
  • MAC Carbon Eyeshadow
  • Rimmel Max Volume Flash Mascara (Because my benefit mascara ran out booo :( I picked this one up for £1! I don't know if it was a mistake...)
  • MAC Blush in Sur
  • MAC Minerazlise Skinfinish in By Candlelight
  • A mix of Oh Oh Oh and Courting Lilac MAC Lipsticks on lips.
  • MAC Pro Longwear Foundation

12 Days of Christmas - Day 6 - Classic Christmas

Today I am doing a classic Christmas look. I realise most of the looks I have done so far have been a bit dramatic, so this one is gonna be super easy and totally something anyone can rock on x-mas day! Tomorrow unfortunately there won't be a blog post up! I have distant family coming over and with that and sleeping during the day, I probably won't have time. But I think i've done well so far :) I had to be super quick, as I was literally running out the door to work.. so I'm really sorry the photos aren't the best again!

Products Used:

  • MAC Pro longwear Foundation
  • MAC So Sweet So Easy CremeBlush
  • Garnier Cover Up Eye Roll On
  • Maybelline Gel Eyeliner (any gel/liquid eyeliner will do!)
  • MAC Moleskin Eyeshadow in the crease.
  • Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow from the Naked Palette on the lid
  • Benefit High Brow Highlight Pencil to highlight
  • MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick (any classic red)
  • Any flesh toned pencil eyeliner

Not the best photos but you get the idea :)

I hope you enjoyed the finished look! I will see you Monday :)

12 Days of Christmas - Day 5 - Mulled Wine

Another late one today! I just hate working nights in the winter. I go to bed and its dark and wake up and its dark! I still love it though! Winter is probably my favourite time of year... but come February I'll definitely be craving some sun! Today I woke up and it was too dark to do any natural lighting... so I hope you can still get the idea with flash! I chose to do a light eye and a darker lip today. I never ever wear dark lips so this is totally different for me!

Products Used:
  • Urban Decay Naked Palette - Half Baked all over the lid and a mix of Darkhorse and Hustle in the outer V. Virgin to highlight.
  • Barry M Dazzle Dust in Gold (96) over Half Baked to create a more intense colour.
  • Avon Lipstick in Divine Wine
  • MAC Pro Longwear Foundation (Because I'm going to work after this... boooo)
  • Lancome Precious Cells Mascara
  • MAC LadyBlush Creme Blush with a pinch of Her Own Devices Beauty Powder over the top.
  • Collection 2000 Concealer

Its SUCH a shame, I couldn't have done this look during the day... the flash just doesn't show the colours true to what they actually are. The lipstick is reality is actually a LOT darker (it does look a really nice shade in the pictures though) and the eyeshadow is really washed out. But alas! I still hope you enjoyed!

Going to get a Friday Night Takeaway!

12 Days of Christmas - Day 4: Winter Wonderland

Today I woke up soooo late! I work nights... so my sleeping pattern on my days off is pretty awful. This means I went to bed at 5 in the morning and woke up at 2pm today! With only an hour of daylight left, I had to work faaaaaaaaast! So please.. excuse my bags!
Today I wanted to do a traditional winter look, using cool blues and icy shades! This is something I would wear on a day to day basis!

Products Used:

  • MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow in Shimmermint
  • Topshop Mineralize Eyeshadow in Solar Cell
  • Rimmel Glam Eyes Eyeshadow in Glam Ice (100)
  • MAC Lip Gelee in Sin-Tillation
  • Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer
  • Barry M Glitter Dust in Silver (4)
  • Eye Candy False Eyelashes in 005
  • Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream
I had a lotttt of issues, first of all the eyelashes I used (which are stunning I'm deffo buying again) I had used before and didn't put them back in the case properly. As such they was very mis-shaped and just would not apply properly. Then I was in such a hurry I ended up applying them to my eyelash not my eye. I tried again and did the same thing! The corners wouldn't (no matter how much I tried and glued) they just wouldn't bend and fix in place, the eyelashes just stayed straight (if you know what I mean!!). Basically long story short... they just wouldn't go right. It was getting so close to dark so I just went with it!

Here's what I came up with... I wasn't so sure on it... because it was so rushed! But hey!

Hope you enjoyed :)

12 Days of Christmas - Day 3 - Silent Night..

This is the make up I wore to my work x-mas party. I wanted something dark, party-ish but also with a hint of festive spirit so I made a dark outer V with all over light lid and it kind of resembled (to me anyway) a starry sky! Especially when teamed up with these wonderful gemmed eyelashes! This is a look for perhaps a Christmas party (i'm going to be wearing it again to my new years eve party) or something similar!

Silent Night

Products Used:
  • Ardell Enchanting False Eyelashes (these things are just so darn pretty!)
  • MAC Satinfinish Mineralize Foundation
  • Garnier Roll On Anti Dark Circles
  • MAC DazzleGlass in Lightly Prancing over MAC Creme De Nude Lipstick
  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Semi Precious Goldstone
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • Urban Decay Book of Shadows IV using colours: Crystal all over the lid and Skimp to Highlight
  • Urban Decay Supercurl Mascara
  • Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette using colours: Evidence in the crease.
  • MAC Showstopper Eyeshadow for my brows.
  • Barry M Glitter Dust in Silver.

I hope you can see the glitter! It really was pretty

I really hope you enjoyed this look :)

12 Days of Christmas! - Have a Cranberry Christmas

So I'm gonna be taking a break from the Disney series to do something a bit more festive!  I'm going to be doing 12 days of Christmas, a new series, where I am going to be posting a festive holiday look every day for 12 days! Its going to be a challenge, but I already know I'm gonna enjoy it! My first look is using cranberry colours for a night time look (can also be worn during the day if you like!) teamed with a darker lip! I took photos really late, so had to use a flash (grr) but the rest of my looks, I'll do during the day and natural light :)

Have a Cranberry Christmas!

  • Tarte for True Blood Palette using colours: Fairy, Werewolf, V
  • MAC Cranberry Eyeshadow
  • Tarte for True Blood Lifted Eye Primer
  • Brown Pencil Eyeliner
  • Tarte for True Blood Lights, Camera, Lashes! Mascara.
  • MAC Sur Blush
  • MAC By Candlelight Mineralize Skinfinish
  • Loreal True Match Roll On Foundation (because its night-time and I'm feeling lazy!)
  • MAC Courting Lilac Lipstick

Step 1: Apply primer potion and using a flat shader brush, put Cranberry eyeshadow all over the lid.
Step 2: I took a small blending brush and blended a mixture of werewolf and V into the outer V and under my lash line.
Step 3: I curled my lashes, applied mascara and applied a brown pencil eyeliner to my waterline.
Step 4: I used Fairy to highlight my brows.
Step 5: I applied foundation, blush and highlighted with By Candlelight for some festive shimmer.
Step 6: I applied Courting Lilac Lipstick to finish!

Disney Series - Cinderella

For this look I was inspired by Cinderella, taking most of my inspiration from the colours and settings in the film. Cinderella was an incredibly strong woman (if she was real, but no doubt there must be a real life cinderella out there somewhere). She put up with an incredible amount of bullying from her "family" and remained cheerful, polite and continued to dream.  I wanted to be a bit more creative with this one, so I've used dark blues representative of the true nature of the story and the moment when she is crying in the dark garden. That scene made me cry :'( I hate it when the step sisters ruin her dress! There are a lot of dark blues in the garden and then used a bright milky colour in the middle of the lid to represent that even in those moments of darkness, Cinderella still remained cheerful, spirited and kind. I used fake eyelashes from Ardell called Enchanted, they have little gems in them which I thought would add a nice touch! Cinderella also has huge eyelashes in the film, so I felt I should represent that. I hope you like how it turned out!

Products Used:
  • MAC SatinFinish Foundation
  • Urban Decay Naked Palette - Colours: Gunmetal, Creep and Virgin.
  • Ardell Enchanted Eyelashes
  • MAC Painterly Paint Pot
  • Loreal Face Primer
  • Urban Decay Blue Eyeliner in Flipside with Creep Eyeshadow pressed over.
  • MAC Warm Soul Mineralize Blush

Step 1: I used Painterly Paint Pot all over my lid.
Step 2: I took my holy grail Naked Palette and applied a mix of Gunmental and Creep above the crease. I left the lid area completely blank, later patting Virgin all over the middle of my lid.
Step 3: I blended the dark blue and Virgin all together and applied fake eyelashes. I took an angled brush and took Creep under my lash line.
Step 4: I applied pencil eyeliner to my top and bottom waterline and then put on the fake eyelashes.
Step 5: Now onto the face, I used primer, and then a very light foundation. I used MAC Satinfinish because it is super lightweight, its hardly an foundation. I powedered over the top to create a matte finish.
Step 6: I then highlighted my cheekbones with Virgin and my brow bone and applied Warm Soul to the tops of my cheekbones.

Super Easy to do and an alternative look on Cinderella :) I just love these fake eyelashes too, so princessy!

I look super tired here, apologies
